Each and every ESPE handbag and accessory is made from polyurethane, a durable synthetic leather that is animal-friendly. The toxins released from leather processes are incredibly harmful to the environment, so it is against our policy to use leather. Polyurethane does not require much maintenance, will not crack in cold weather, and remains flexible in temperatures as low as -32°C! It’s perfect for harsh Canadian winters, which makes it the perfect ESPE material!

Bling Welcomes Local Artist Marc “Budgie” Bourdon

Welcome to Marc Budgie Bourdon, 38, local glass artist and sculptor. Born in Prescott, ON, and now residing in Belleville, ON, Budgie brings his education and career background in advertising and graphic design together with a long time passion for carving and sculpting. The combination has resulted in a very unique and definitive style.

“I have been creating art since I can remember and have always enjoyed working with my hands. I enjoy making forms rather than details because I like how it can be interpreted differently by individuals. I prefer to work in stone and glass because it is so permanent. Creating art relaxes me, I am a Graphic Designer by trade and art is a welcome contrast.”

Budgie worked for seven years on the Artistic Team at Campbell Monument and before that spent 18 years working in advertising. And he has a lifetime of experience creating art for himself, his family, friends, and loyal fans.

Recipient of the 2008 Quinte Arts Council Art Recognition Award, and the 2006 Emerging Sculptors Exhibition held by the Canadian Sculptor Society (Toronto) awards, this artist is clearly scratching the surface of his talent and we can’t wait to see what he shares with us next.

Bling N Things is pleased to bring you his one-of-a-kind fused glass pendants. To ensure the glass is tempered and strong, he creates each piece in and cools it in a process that takes over six hours to complete. Check all 16 featured pendants out on Marc’s page in our shopping section.

Fall Doesn’t Have to be Blah

Just because the leaves are falling and browns, greys, and orange colours are all around us, it doesn’t mean we are limited to wearing autumn tones. Of course neutral tones and dark shades are going to eek their way out of the back of your closet, but don’t be afraid to add some fun jewel tones and vibrant colours to update this fall’s wardrobe:

Purple is a very rich colour that adds a great pop of colour to greys and blacks.

Neutrals are a must-have for every season, but in the fall they get cosier and and more fun.
